Notes:
Ingredients:
12 oz jimmy dean sausage
2 T roasted red bell pepper, diced
3 tsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic, minced
2T diced green onions
4 T pine nuts
S & P to taste
1 box (17 oz) frozen puff pastry (2 sheets) thawed
1 brie cheese round (approx 1 lb.) cubed into 18 pieces
1 egg beaten mixed with 1 T water for glaze
Dill weed for garnish
Directions:
Brown sausage and drain. Add diced red pepper.
In separate pan on med heat add olive oil and pine nuts. Stir until lightly brown. Add garlic and green onions. Saute 45 seconds. Remove from heat. Add sausage and pepper mixture...set aside. Cool.
Preheat oven to 400. Roll 1 sheet of puff pastry out on lightly floured surface to 1/8 in thickness. Cut and trim into nine 3 inch squares. Repeat rolling and cutting with second pastry sheet.
Spoon on each pastry square 1 T sausage mix and top with cubed brei. Lift up four pastry corners and bring together in center. Pinch seams together and seal forming a closed package. Repeat with other squares to yield 18 packages.
Transfer pastries to lightly greased cookie sheet or stone. Brush pastry with egg mixtrue and garnish with dill weed. Bake 15 minutes until golden. Cool and serve warm.
